Badminton light height cannot be chosen from one universal number. The correct suspension elevation depends on clear ceiling height, court position, luminaire distribution, output, aiming and the class of play. Position is equally important because players repeatedly look upward to track the shuttle. BD-003 uses a curved dragon-scale louver and suspended linear form to control direct glare while providing 60W to 100W choices.
The BWF international-facility specification does not give one fixture mounting height for all halls. It does require even light for sanctioned tournaments, says lighting should not be directly over the playing area, and prefers positions along the court sides. The same document distinguishes a 1,000-lux tournament benchmark from ordinary venue design needs.

Raising a fixture usually increases beam spread and may improve uniformity, but it also reduces illuminance at the court unless output or quantity changes. Lowering it can improve utilization while increasing luminance in the player's field of view. The designer should test height, lateral offset and row spacing together. Review views from both baselines, service positions and the net, not only a top-down lux map.
The BD-003 range lists UGR below 18 for the 60W and 80W 110-degree versions, and below 20 for the 80W and 100W 90-degree versions. UGR is useful product information, but the experienced glare at a badminton court also depends on room geometry, observer position and luminance contrast. Use the value as one input and validate the actual installation.

There is no single ideal height. The correct value comes from the hall geometry, selected optic, output, spacing and target maintained level.
Players look upward frequently. A bright source directly over play can interfere with shuttle tracking, which is why BWF guidance prefers side positions.
Lower product UGR can support comfort, but the installed result still depends on layout and observer position. Compare the full design, not one catalog number.
The 90-degree and 110-degree versions serve different spacing and height conditions. A photometric model should decide which distribution fits the court.
